YOUR COMMENTS ON GARDENZINEOn What makes a child-friendly garden From Naomi Sachs... Something else that makes a garden child-friendly: Planting the right things and NOT planting the wrong things! Kids love to explore, and a garden should be a safe place to do that. Lots of wonderful plants that stimulate the senses and imagination. One of my favorite books for what to plant and not plant (e.g., poisonous plants) is Robin Moore\'s Plants for Play. Other good resources at http://www.healinglandscapes.org/links.html#avoid. I also like Molly Dannenmaier's book, A Child's Garden. On Improving clay soil Hate my clay soil...will try adding compost. Home
