Gardenzine was first published in 2006 by garden designer and lecturer in horticulture, Julie Kilpatrick. It was designed as a magazine-style website offering gardening and landscaping hints and tips. Since 2006, Gardenzine has built up a large library of gardening articles from various authors and gardening experts. It is currently undergoing a full re-design to make it more mobile-friendly. This is happening on a page-by-page basis to avoid any down-time so, for a while, you will see some older-version pages alongside the new design.

New for 2018 is Gardenzine's first foray into print publication. The Plant Listener, written by Julie Kilpatrick - ISBN: 978 1 9997243 0 6 - is the first in a series of books explaining the theory behind our horticultural practices. The Plant Listener covers plant evolution, the plant processes and plant life cycles. It is currently available in paperback print version and on Kindle. The Plant City covers soils and nutrition. It is in development stage.
