Arches and pergolas
An arch or a pergola gives instant height to the garden and acts like a gateway or entrance, drawing the eye towards garden features beyond. They can be particularly effective when used as a corridor.
You can grow a wide range of climbers over arches and pergolas.
Play equipment
Play equipment such as swings, chutes, trampolines and climbing frames should be permanently installed so that they are as safe as possible. If you have the space, a dedicated area for play equipment is best with either rubber, bark or grass underneath so that children have a soft landing if they fall.
